Depleted Uranium - A Hidden Evil

Depleted Uranium - A Hidden Evil

Depleted Uranium (DU) munitions are used primarily for their penetration properties. Depleted Uranium has a reduced Uranium-235 content is composed mainly of Uranium-238. A heavy metal, with high density, makes it ideal for military projectile weapons and is often referred to as "armour piercing" in the news media.

However, there is more than meets the eye when it comes to this class of munitions. Long after the projectile has, or has not, hit its intended target, the effect of the uranium content remains.

An excellent resource that explains how DU munitions can affect the human bodies for generations is available at http://www.cadu.org.uk
